Biography
As a guitarist, singer, songwriter and farmer, Moss finds inspiration in growing things. In fact, most of her original music
sprouts from time spent on the farm, or while thinking about the garden.
Moss saved up and bought her first guitar when she was 14 and began
her journey into roots, blues and folk without even knowing what she
was getting into. Five years of lessons with Mike Allen, a Burlington-based guitar teacher and roots musician, blazed a path into the world of
fingerstyle blues and folk that is now as much a part of her as the dirt
under her fingernails.
While co-managing a market garden in Duncan, BC, manure-shovelling, posthole-digging and weed-
pulling lead her to record her first solo CD, Wealthy at the Duncan Garage Showroom. "Wealthy"
describes the struggles and ecstacies of an organic farmer with a broken but hopeful heart. Now Moss
lives in Victoria and spends her days getting dirty in the veggie garden at Sleeping Dog Farm & Retreat,
playing music with the Backyard String Band and living in the delightful chaos of a communal house.
